Chimney Removal

In order to prevent moisture infiltration, a Des Moines-area church contacted Crose & Lemke to remove their old, unused chimney.

The timing of the project, in the middle of winter, presented a bit of a challenge, especially since the work required using a lift and operating within a confined space at difficult angles. We also needed to shovel snow off the rooftop worksite from time to time.

After removing the chimney, we also reframed the roof area to prevent water, snow and ice from collecting and causing damage.

Throughout the weeklong project, we were careful to keep the work area clear so parishioners and staff could walk safely to and from the church.
