Screened Porch Addition

Crose & Lemke has a successful track record of helping homeowners with new additions. For this Des Moines home, we helped turn an existing 10’ x 10’ space into a wraparound, screened-in porch.

The project presented a unique challenge due to its location. The house was located on a steep hill in a wooded area, which means access was limited. The on-site team was unable to use machines, so all hauling and moving was done by hand. However, the project was still completed in under 4 months’ time and within budget.

Although there was an existing porch, work was done to match the original with the new addition, making the project essentially 2 additions. The final result more than quadrupled the total amount of 3-season space.

Highlights of the addition included steel gussets and open beam framework. We also replaced the entire roof and installed new copper gutters, adding an accent color to the home.

The resulting wraparound porch has provided more entertaining space for the owners and added value to their home.
